We work with children and young people with a range of moderate to severe mental health needs including anxiety, low mood, depression, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorders, psychosis and the effects of trauma.
We begin by working with each child and their parents to understand their experiences and what the concerns are about their behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Our approach is to work in an open, collaborative and supportive way with children, young people and their families.
A mental health assessment is designed to help your child or teenager by identifying any mental health challenges they are experiencing and suitable support or treatment options. At HealthCare In Mind we offer a range of NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) approved therapies that can help manage mental health conditions. Early diagnosis and support can help your child thrive emotionally and mentally.
If you think your child is struggling, an assessment will help you understand the best next steps to support them. Fill in our contact form and access support immediately without waiting lists.
Our specialist assessor will meet with you and your child to understand their current mental state and the cause of their struggles using an evidence-based diagnostic tool approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Mental health assessments for children can be carried out via remote online appointments under the supervision of a parent or carer, which can work best for some patients. For patients and families who would prefer an in-person appointment please detail this when filling in our contact form and we will be in touch to discuss availability.
The cost is:
£1,335 inc. VAT

Our highly skilled clinician will speak with children and their parents to understand their background, thoughts, feelings and symptoms following the NICE guidelines. The assessment will take around one to two hours.
You will receive a full report with our findings and recommendations for appropriate treatment within two weeks following your child’s appointment. All our assessments include a feedback session so that you can ask questions and plan for further support if needed.
