Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, which means that autistic people may find it hard to communicate with others, get anxious or upset in unfamiliar situations and need more time to process information. Not all individuals with autism will have sensory challenges, but many of them will and may find things like bright lights or loud noises overwhelming. More than one in 100 people are autistic and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK. Autism affects people in different ways.

About your assessment
Our expert clinician will spend two to three hours with you and your child to learn more about them. A detailed developmental history will be taken using the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADR-1) tool during the assessment and an observational assessment will be carried out using an Autism Diagnostic Observation (ADOS-2). Information from your child’s school will also be gathered as part of the assessment process.
Our autism assessment follows the guidelines outlined by the NHS and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). All our assessments are completed by qualified healthcare providers and are likely to be accepted towards an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) if needed. Autism assessments for children can be carried out via remote online appointments under the supervision of a parent or carer, which can work best for some patients. For patients and families who would prefer an in-person appointment please detail this when filling in the self-referral form and we will be in touch to discuss availability
You will receive a full report with our findings and recommendations within two weeks following your child’s appointment. All our assessments include a feedback session so that you can ask questions and plan for further support if needed.
If you think that your child could be autistic fill in our self-referral form and access support immediately without waiting lists.
