Adult mental health assessment
One in four people in England will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life. If you are struggling with daily life because of your mental health, our evidence-based assessment can help you identify what support might help you.
Our broad range of NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) approved therapies can help with conditions such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and more. Early diagnosis and support can help you thrive emotionally and mentally.
While NHS waiting lists for mental health assessments are increasing, at HealthCare In Mind we can help you secure a diagnosis and treatment plan quickly and simply.

About your assessment
Our specialist assessor will meet with you to understand your current mental state and your history. You do not have to share any more details than you feel ready to share. However, the more open and honest you are, the more helpful your assessment will be and the easier it will be to get the right help. Adult mental health assessments can be carried out via remote online appointments, which can work best for some patients. If you would prefer an in-person appointment please detail this when filling in the self-referral form and we will be in touch to discuss availability.
You might be asked about your mental health symptoms, circumstances such as housing, finance, employment, relationships, physical wellbeing and drug or alcohol use, your background such as past experiences, culture, ethnicity, gender and sexuality, your safety and other people’s, relevant family history and also your strengths, hopes and aspirations.
You will receive a full report with our findings, a diagnosis and our recommendations within two weeks following your appointment. All our assessments include a feedback session so that you can ask questions and plan for further support if needed.
